TD 7 (Gaston) forms off the SE U.S. coast


History:

"Gaston", the seventh tropical storm of the Atlantic season formed Friday, late in the day, August 27, from a depression that devloped from a persistant area of thunderstorms off the Georgia/Florida coast. The storm made landfall in just north or Charleston with 70 mph winds. The storm dumped a foot of rain over Richmond, VA causing severe flooding.
