Tropical Storm "Jeanne" with 70 mph winds over the NE shoreline of the Dominican Republic.

The Satellite passed over the area from SSE to NNWW at 3:30 EDT.

Multi-spectral image use the two visible channels and one thermal channel of the weather satellite. Most of the image is of the visible light with the high thin clouds tinted blue

Color enhanced cloud top temperatures. The blue represents temperatures around -90 F and the purple about -110 There is a relationship to the cloud top temperature to the intensity of the storm and to the rainfall rates: The colder the cloud tops, the more intense the storm and the heavier rain potential
